Earlier in the month Fyfe Recorded a session for the Mercury Prize at The Hospital club in London. His first shows with a full band the results are pretty special and will be broadcast this Friday the 16th April on Channel 4, at 1:15AM, which is technically Saturday Morning. There is is also an interview in which he talks about the next Guillemots record as well as his solo project. Fyfe Dangerfield Pre-Order

Our teams of umpa-lumpas have been working away night and day to get things ready for you, and now at last we can unveil the pre-order copies of 'Fly Yellow Moon', my first solo record, including a deluxe edition available exclusively - YES, EXCLUSIVELY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (!) .. ! == ** ! - through my website.

There's basically two versions: one is just the "regular" album on cd, and there's nowt wrong with that.

But the one that I'm most excited about is the deluxe edition - you get the entire album on heavyweight vinyl, another copy of it on cd, and then you also get a bonus cd with another 10 unreleased songs from the same album sessions. These tracks aren't being made available anywhere else for the foreseeable future, so this is what we in the business call a GOOD, COOL THING.

I'm genuinely just as attached to these bonus tracks as I am to the ones on the main album: I just always had it in my head that Fly Yellow Moon should only have 10 songs on it, so all these other ones had to be put to the side. But they very much come from the same place and were recorded in the same, relaxed spirit; half of them are very stripped down and acoustic, the other half wear all kinds of costumes. It's really nice to know they're being made available instead of laying dormant on my laptop for years, so - yeah - if you're able to set aside £25, i hope you'll really feel it's worth it and enjoy them.

Also included in the deluxe edition is a 16-page vinyl booklet designed by my friend Denis, which contains loads of photos from the shoot my other friend (i do have at least 2 friends) David took with me on a weekend in Norfolk earlier in the year. There's also hand-written lyrics for all 20 songs. And finally there's a double-sided poster, made up of two of David's prints, ideal for livening up the walls of an office, children's play area or wine cellar. I'll also be scribbling my signature of approval somewhere on each copy.

HELLO .. i am very pleased to say that after years of laying dormant,The Courtesy Group's debut album "Tradesman's Entrance" is finally being released on Ma Doocey Records, via Cargo. . and it's out NOW!

I play guitar on the record, and a bit of keyboards and hitty things. .and am very proud of this record, thus my posting such said details here on this page. Reviews are coming in almost as I type, but STEWART LEE AT THE SUNDAY TIMES SAYS THIS, which is dead nice, and some dude at Amazon says some very cool things about it if you scroll down THIS page.

I can't work out how to link to the album on I-Tunes, but it's up there, at the very reasonable price of £7.99, which includes a digital booklet with the lyrics and some photos in it. (n.b. if you buy this and the booklet comes out funny when you download it, drag it into Adobe or something and it should be fine. . it came out a bit odd on mine but no-one else has so far had a problem so maybe my Mac's just on the pills or something).

And for those of you that prefer to get physical, you can order the record via Cargo HERE, or via Ma Doocey Records HERE on our Myspace page, where THIS BLOG ALSO HAS A LNIK FOR YOU TO DOWNLOAD ALL THE LYRICS, which might be useful for you if you're ordering a physical copy of the record, since they're not printed inside. So - YEAH! THE COURTESY GROUP! I'm trying to do gigs with the band whenever time allows so will be posting more details up here soon. But please go and investiage, yes, investiage - I guess I should add that it's nothing like Guillemots or my forthcoming record, but if you like having your head screwed by lashings of noise and spiel then this might well be what you need.

Okay .. will write more soon - no massive news but we're just finishing getting the deluxe edition of my own album ready (honestly, we really are this time), really excited about this - I imagine in a few days time I'll be posting up here what exactly you'll be getting if you order this magic bundle.

Daniel Johnston Shows Tonight and Monday

Hello - my compadre (I really like that word) Magrao and I have been asked to play a few Daniel Johnston songs with the wonderful man himself, both tonight and on Monday in his two London shows. It's all very last minute - we only got asked yesterday afternoon, so the pair of us are meeting up in a couple of hours to go through the songs before going onto soundcheck with the great man himself. .. . .so slightly scared but you're not really going to say NO to an offer like that are you?

Laura Marling is the main support too, which makes the night even better.. . and I think if all goes to plan I'm going to go on before her and do 3 or 4 songs from my FORTHCOMING (i don't like that word but can't think of a better one) solo record too - though if you come down and that ends up not happening don't sue me. ..

The show tonight is at Bloosbury Ballroom, and Monday is the Union Chapel. I'm not sure of exact details but if you're reading this it means you're on the internet so I'm sure you can find out the apprpriate info.

Guillemots back at Barbican..but just quickly

Guillemots are taking a small break from writing LP 3 for their first live outing in a while. The British Council, who represent British Culture abroad have asked the band to perform as part of their 75th birthday celebrations on Oct 26th.

They will be playing a short set in conjunction with the fantastic Penguin Cafe Orchestra as a night of collaborations being headlined by Matthew Herbert at Barbican. The night will see a whole host of musicians coming together. For more information go to Barbican

HEY - if you happen to live within bouncing distance of Manchester, this may be of interest to you - this Thursday, 30th April, the cellist Natalie Klein is playing a concert at Bridgewater Hall, and one of the things she'll be playing will be the premiere of a piece for solo cello that she kindly asked me to write for her.

So do come down if you ABLE - quite apart from my Telletubby-like place on the bill, you should really near Natalie play if you haven't already. If you like the cello then I can't imagine a reason you wouldn't enjoy hearing her play it - she properly throws herself into whatever she's playing, and all but literally brings the instrument alive .. which is how it should be captain, yeah?

HELLOO. been a while. . . hope everyone's well . .. Guillemots start writing for our next album in a couple of weeks, which is very exciting. It's the longest we've not played together since before we formed, so it's going to be a goddam SONIC ERUPTION BABY. or something like that! We have no idea what our new stuff's going to sound like at all. I like that.

A few other things I want to say. Firstly a massive thankyou to Hutchins guitars. As a man with the full name Fyfe Antony Dangerfield Hutchins i was obviously drawn to Hutchins guitars, but had no idea they'd make such unusual and fun guitars to play. And they look pretty cool aswell. Of late I've been messing around with a fretless guitar they've designed, which has been most enjoyable, truth be told. I'd very much suggest that any guitarists of young, old or indeed medium age should check our their range of goodies and GET INVOLVED . . a good place to start is their website..

'Fishbone For a Drink' Tour Coming To A Close

Just a quick one - Guillemots are on the last lap of their mighty 'Fishbone For A Drink' UK tour, and only a handful of dates remain.

There has been a little bit of confusion over these tickets so we would just like to confirm that you will all definitely be able to get into Guillemot's show at the Custard Factory!

The organisers have reassured us that the venue is by far the biggest capacity of all the Gigbeth locations and it will easily accommodate all ticket holders.

Doors at the Custard Factory open at 7pm, the Future Shorts screening (with Guillemots playing an improvised score) will be at 7:30pm and Guillemots main set is at 8:15pm so make sure you get there early enough!

So last night we finished our rehearsals and today gear will be being packed down into big black boxes, leads fiddled with and oil liberally applied to mechanical joints . .. Can't wait for Friday. This tour's our last outing before we retire to our hideout and play away for months, and I'm really looking foward to it . .

One thing I've been meaning to post on here for ages, I'm really sorry that this time round we weren't able to get to anywhere in Wales or Ireland.. We tried to make it work but just weren't able to logistically this time, but it's in our heads for the next time we head out.

Right, I must now fill my huge avacado-coloured suitcase.

Two pianists play improvised solo piano sets...

Fyfe Dangerfield

Fyfe Dangerfield is a founding member of the bands Guillemots and Gannets. He has also written several choral pieces, and last October, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra premiered his debut orchestral work, "In Wait".

His parents noticed that as a three-year-old he kept jumping up and hitting the piano that nestled in their dining room, so they bought him a piano stool. He has been playing the instrument ever since, sometimes falling asleep at it. He has so far released one cd of piano music, 2002's startingly-titled "Piano Things 1".

'Like falling down an endless flight of stairs, desperately trying to grab onto anything that sounds remotely familiar...I just haven't got the patience for this' (Jazz Review).

Tom Rogerson

The founding member of Three Trapped Tigers, Tom has been working as pianist and arranger for various artists in London for the last two years. Before that, he recorded an album of free improvisation with Bad Plus alumnus Reid Anderson in New York.

Guillemots Join The Tribute To Nico

Guillemots will join John Cale, Mark Lanegan, James Dean Bradfield, Mark Linkous (Sparklehorse), The Fiery Furnaces and more in serenading the memory of musical legend Nico at a tribute show on Saturday 11th October.

The unmissable evening - titled Life Along The Borderline - A Tribute To Nico - takes place at London's Southbank Centre and is curated by Nico's long time friend and collaborator John Cale.

This week Guillemots attended the Premiere of How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. The night saw a very pregnant Gillian Anderson fall over infront of everybody in the cinema after play fighting with the director. Simon Pegg joined Guillemots on stage during their set at the after party and unconfirmed reports that Greig Stewart was threatened with expulsion from the party after jumping in the pool at 2Am in order to deliberately splash the party's important guests, only to climb out in his underwear and hug Simon Pegg!

We are pleased to announce that Guillemots will be hitting the road again next month for a full UK tour, and they'll be taking in some rather unusual venues, including caves and factories.

Oh yes.

Said Fyfe: "We want to get to places that are off the usual touring circuit that's reeled out, and really mix around the type of venues we're at each night. It makes it more fun for us and audiences too. And the set will be different as well. We'll definitely be trying out something we've never played live before."

The single will initially be available as a four-track digital bundle, including the new video directed by Magrao on Sept 22nd, then a beautiful VERY limited edition 10” vinyl following on October 6th. There will only by 500 numbered copies in beautiful packaging that features the masks, that Greig made used in Magrao's Kriss Kross video

As well as Kriss Kross and Clarion, which both appear with alternative edits to those on the album "Red", the release features two previously unreleased tracks. The first is the band's frenzied Radio 1 cover of Sam Sparro's "Black & Gold", The second is a brand new song, "Fishbone For A Drink", written in a soundcheck at Latitude Festival this year and hastily recorded soon afterwards. it is rough, stripped-down and with a distinctly menacing undertone running through, it's not quite like anything Guillemots have recorded before, and provides a glimpse of the way things might sound on their next album

Orange RockCorps Gig For Guillemots

Guillemots have the rare honour of playing alongside Busta Rhymes next month as part of the Orange RockCorps charity Supergig in London's Royal Albert Hall.

The event takes place on Friday 26th September, features 3 other bands (TBC) and will be televised on Channel 4. Orange RockCorps will benefit charities including Crisis, The Prince’s Trust, Young Timebank, and Hoxton Hall.

Guillemots will be performing tracks from 'Red', including the upcoming single 'Kriss Kross', out 22nd September.

They'll also be teaming up with new soul sensation Bryn Christopher for a unique version of Rhianna's 'Don't Stop The Music'.

Guillemots is almost an anagram of summer

Hello to the world of the world. We've all gone and had holidays last week - in Italy, France, Greece and Ireland respectively. You can try and figure out who went where if you want but in all honestly that would be a waste of anyone's time. It just isn't important. Get out of the shop and don't come back. Now. Lovely times were had by all though.

Anyway, we're back in a sort-of full-throttle log flume of a mini-tour this week, with a lot going on. Thursday, coming, as ever, after Wednesday, is the day before Friday and on this Thursday we're playing at Koko as part of the I-tunes festival. If you don't make it down you can hear the whole gig on XFM and watch highlights on ITV2, and the gig's also available to buy from next week on I-Tunes - possibly making it the most exposed gig EVER, except maybe Live Aid. But it should be a really good night, we're hopefully having someone very special come and join us for a song too, and Lykke Li is playing before us and by all accounts she's definitely worth seeing.

Then we get on our funbus and head to Suffolk for the wonderful Latitude Festival. We're playing our main set there on Saturday, in the Uncut Arena at about 7.30, but prior to that, on the Friday, we're gong to be headlining in the Film and Music Tent, improvising a new soundtrack to David Lynch's pretty disturbing but pretty amazing film 'Eraserhead'. This is in collaboration with Future Cinema, and the whole night they're putting on will have films and suchlike themed around David Lynch's work. Performances start at 9.30 and we should then be on at 11.00. God knows what we'll end up playing, we have no more idea than you, but if you're at the festival you should come and watch the film and hopefully the noises that we make will add something to it rather than make you leave in a huff and puff of despair-tinged smoke. We're really excited about doing something like this, it's a bit of a one-off really.

Also, on the Saturday, at 6.15 PM we're also doing a live session for Loose Ends on Radio 4, and on Friday I might also pop up on someone else's stage else like a deranged jack-in-the-box. Maybe in swimwear. Would you rather see Greig or Arista in swimwear? Don't answer.

So hopefully you can make it along to some, nay all of this, and follow us on our summer jaunt. And either way, pack suncream and if you don't want to wear shoes then for God's sake remember socks because the ground can bite. Or just wear sandals. Or espadrilles. I do.

It's made by Philips and it's fucking amazing, it basically sounds like THE organ you hear on loads of classic late 60s records but it's tiny and could fit in anyone's bedroom. The next day, the band will then proceed to hop all the way back to London from the festival, sat on the back of giant - and highly opinionated - frogs. They may stop at service stations on the way, but this is all dependent on whether the police service of the UK feel that they can offer the band a suitable "frog protection scheme". The frogs, after all, must feel confident that they can cope with motorway conditions, or we're all going to end up in the slimepit!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Most important of all, you gotta keep on rocking", said the chief Frog.

"Well if you stop jumping on my balls that'll be a start" replied Doris, abruptly.

We're in France. I would like to say that earlier on I saw a baguette running down the street and the sexless bageuette caught my eye and said "about time you lot were back in town, I've been wearing out my Thin Lizzy LPs in anticpation. . .sign me crust will ya?" // but this of course did not happen.

We had a nice meal in the caff over the road earlier on .. the French know how to do lunch .. .and are very much looking foward to playing here again. French audiences always seem to be amazing, they listen intensely and then clap like crickets. But I shouldn't say that before the show - mabe there'll be a mass walk out or everyone will throw creme caramel at us. I hope not.

In the cafe earlier I somehow found myself in the position of being the main French speaker in our party. I did my best. I want to speak French properly - I could do it if I lived here for a month or two I think. Or if I took a course, I guess, but time is always running away from me.

Got up at 4.30 this morning and thus am pretty incoherent. If you live in Paris come to watch us!

Hey all... so we're really getting back into the swing of touring now, we've loved the gigs on the UK tour so far... and had a great time doing the Live Lounge for Jo Whiley too.

Just a quick note to tell you about the B-sides for 'Falling Out Of Reach', which is OUT ON MONDAY...

'Trick Of The Light' - the new song on the CD - is the track we wrote and recorded in a day for Q - they called it 'Seabirds' but we kind of went and changed the name, didn't we?

'The Face We Deserve' - on the regular vinyl - was recorded in the wee small hours and you can tell... it's for Alison Hamilton, who won a competition of ours ages ago... that was the title she came up with. And we finally got round to recording it a couple of months back. We're all really into it, it's not really like anything we've done. Very rough and dark.

And then there's the instrumental of 'Last Kiss', on the picture disc, which we heard back by chance and thought we had to put it out. It kind of sounds like a 1970s cop drama theme tune or something. It would sound good in a club. So you can dance around your room and pretend you're a badass.

The other B-side on the cd is the album version of 'Falling Out Of Reach', for the uninitiated amongst you.

This Sunday (May 11th) sees Guillemots taking time out from their hectic schedule to hang out in The Nokia Green Room on Channel 4.

The all-access music show goes out at 1:40 pm Sunday on T4, so don't forget to tune in for some live Guillemots action. So this Sunday afternoon there is a gig that you should all go to if you have a chance. It's the Love Music Hate Racism Carnival in Victoria Park, London, thirty years on from the original Rock Against Racism Carnival, which featured The Clash, amongst many others. I always feel very insipid trying to write or talk about big issues - it's clearly not a great skill of mine - but you'd have to pretty thick to not see how revolting racism is. I feel really proud to be living in a city like London that is incredibly multicultural - that's one of the reasons I moved here in the first place, to be somewhere that you can soak up all kinds of cultures and influences - and it's so disappointing when organisations like the BNP speak of this multiculturalism as a negative thing. And I suppose that's why music is so often connected with political issues, because it's such a unifying thing, above and beyond the petty human differences that some certain people and groups like to prey on.

So please come along and show your support if you can - the gig's free, there's going to be loads of great music and by coming along you're saying that you find racism intolerable, which is a really important statement to make. And - I won't say "most of all" because that would obviously not be true - but you get to see Ed Larrikin and myself bluffing our way through a classic cover version with Drew McConnell's band Helsinki.

... news rolls by with panda eyes ...we're going to be playing with REM this summer, at some stadiums. I'm trying to write that as flippantly as possible but it does seem a slightly odd sentence to be typing casually. But anyway, it's mad but true, we're supporting REM at their four UK stadium shows this summer -

24th Aug LCCC, Manchester
25th Aug Millenium Stadium, Cardiff
27th Aug Rosebowl Southampton
29th Aug Twickenham Stadium

It's us, then Editors, then REM. So that should be interesting, as well as pretty damn exciting.

We're also playing the Hop Farm festival on July the 6th with Neil Young, which means I finally get to see one of my favourite living songwriters play live. And we're also playing at Wireless, third on a bill that goes Morissey, Beck, then us. Who's next? Playing on a boat with Tom Waits? Reforming the Birthday Party with Nick Cave?

We had two days free a week or two ago and finally had the time to just get in a room and improvise, and in a couple of three hour sessions we came up with what could turn into maybe ten or fifteen songs. It's been quite full on recently, figuring out the best way to play some of the songs from "Red" live, figuring out various technical things, it was so great just to play in a room and make some new stuff up. That's how we're going to make our third album. Us in a room playing live. Maybe a tambourine overdub here and there. . .. That's the plan anyway. Ideas are being hatched. .

Really looking foward to the May tour though, it'll be great to get into a run of gigs - we haven't done that in months. It's like a car needing to get into fourth gear or whatever it is to really get going. Actually that might be an awful analogy, I had endless lessons but was still useless and not got to the stage of taking a test. My teacher told me to turn right at a roundabout once and I literally just turned right and nearly killed us. Was a bit embarasssing.

- Making a whistling keyboard sound for the end of song out of my girlfriend's voice. Sampling could form its own church as far as I'm concerned. You can make a sound out of ANYTHING. ANYTHING..

BIG DOG

- Channelling the spirit of George Michael whilst recording the vocals; subsequently having to remove one squeal that sounded a bit like Michael Jackson being startled by a dog, but nowhere near as good.

FALLING OUT OF REACH

- Arista recording the bass whilst sat on the lap of a hugely excited teddy bear, well, lion really, called Leo, who lives in our studio and has had a crush on Arista for a long time. He gradually began to do more than just sit. You could tell he was bricking it but he did his best to act cool. It's all been filmed.

GET OVER IT

- Driving around London at 3 in the morning with Adam, who recorded the album, playing the song stupidly loud and doing in-seat dance actions that were somewhere between Victor Meldrew, road rage, and Animal from the Muppets.

CLARION

- Finally getting to have a pipa on a track of ours. I am obsessed with the sound of the pipa. It's a Chinese mandolin and kind of sound like Studio Ghibli movies look.

LAST KISS

- Being away for a few days, coming back and hearing this track which seemed to have come out of nowhere. Greig had recorded the drums on his computer with two microphones. This is the way forward.

COCKATEELS

Finally getting to play disco guitar on something. I did it when no-one was looking.

WORDS

Asking the brass and wind players who had come in to improvise around a few notes for the end of the song, expecting it to be a little effect that would last a few seconds, and hearing them make this beautiful cloudy sort of noise that I could listen to for hours.

STANDING ON THE LAST STAR

The intensely divisive nature of Greig Stewart's Ping-Pong Beat. It caused arguments. It nearly caused wars. It used to be in before the start of the song but we got rid of it. Which I think was the right thing to do. Having said that, I am a firm supporter and believer in Greig Stewart's Ping-Pong Beat. Amen.

Getting Christopher Cundy to come down from Cheltenham to, essentially, impersonate a foghorn at the start of the song.

TAKE ME HOME

Magrao somehow managing to make a guitar sound like stars disintegrating. Well I think that's what it sounds like anyway. It's the last thing you hear on the record and one of my favourite sounds ever.

Just to add to what Authority said below, it was recently proved SCIENTIFICALLY that the tracks on our new album are "gorgeous Guillemots goodness" - that's not just talking it up. Apparently they made a bunsen burner turn into a daffodil or something when they were being tested.

"We're genuinely really excited about the B-sides for 'Get Over It'. There's four in all, two on the cd, and one each on the two 7-inches, all co-produced by Jonas Raabe of Dibidim.

'Throw Me A Sun' - (CD): This is the first B-side we've ever done that felt like it could have been on an album had we done it at a slightly different time. At one point we were even thinking about making it a double A-side with 'Get Over It'. . I think it came as a total release for us all after the intensity of making 'Red' last year. It all unravelled really quickly, from an "Astronaut Beat" of Greig's .. the vocal is just a first take and a double track - I love doing things where you just sing once and that's it. Arista double tracked her double bass too, which sounds great, and then Magrao came up with this brilliant guitar loop to go over the last part of the song... it was really fun to make, and it's one of our favourite Guillemots songs already. I suppose it's quite stadium-y sounding in some ways, but there's a roughness, scracbooky sort of feel to it too. So, yeah... it's a big B-side for us.

'Me Diz' - (CD): Magrao sings this one. We basically finally got round to writing some music for the winner of the 'Made-Up Lovesong' lyrics competition - from about a year and a half ago! (I'm surprised she didn't sue us) - and ended up doing this sort of Pulp Fiction meets Bossa Nova track, with Magrao finally playing the matchbox (when he answered my ad getting the band together, he mentioned that he played matchbox but I'd never heard him until now) and me doing my best Chris Rea moves on the guitar... or something. I'd sung the lyrics that Adele Hammond, the competition winner, had written, but then afterwards we were listening to it as an instrumental and Greig said he thought Magrao should sing something Brazilian on it. He took a bit of persuading but then ended up getting up and making the whole thing up on the spot, in one take. It's a beauitful vocal, there's bits in it that get the hairs on the back of my neck up every time I hear it.

'This Is The Last Ride Tonight' - (Picture Disc 7 inch): Again, this came from Greig Stewart's massive beat library... This is our take on very monged club music. We would dance to music like this, even if no-one else did. Personally speaking, a friend of mine has been going to a lot of strange clubs recently, such as Bangface and Braindrop - and I WANT this to be the music they play in them. . . Magrao was at the desk for most of this, piecing it together, and we got in our friend Sonny McCaskill to add some vocals. He was the only man that could have done the track justice. Sonny remembered a fairground in Scotland where a steward-type would wander around as the place was closing, shouting "This Is The Last Ride Tonight" in a thick, whirring Highland voice... and so this mysterious fairground gatekeeper is immortalised... in our depraved version of techno. It all makes sense if you think about it.

'What We Have' - (7 inch): Greig, Arista and I improvised the music for this one live... I'd had one or two ideas for a sort of 50s-style ballad that I wanted to try out. I'd been listening to 'Coles Corner' by Richard Hawley a few days before - I hadn't heard it in ages and had forgotten how great it was, so I suppose that was in my mind too. But anyway, we did the music live and I tried singing live too but couldn't get into it and went home in a bad mood shortly afterwards. A few days later, Greig and Jonas put it on and it sounded so much better coming back to it fresh... but the vocal still sounded very poor, for want of a better word - so I scribbled some lyrics down for half an hour and then did another take, and really enjoyed it, and that's it - any overdubs beyond the vocal felt like they'd ruin it. We were using this old valve microphone and it kept overloading, which I love the sound of - proper old style distortion. I suppose it's a song about mood swings and learning to appreciate someone before they're gone... I really like it. It's probably one of the vocals of my own that I'm happiest with."

Myself and Magrao are the guests on this week's Times Podcast - we talk to Mr. Tom "Bombdog" Gatti about unusual croissants, being unfashionable and why we make the music we make.

It was recorded early in the morning, which manifests itself in different ways - with MC, it just makes him sound even more laid-back and cool than usual, with me, I think the coffee had gone straight to my head and I sound like an hyperactive kid that's eaten 3 packets of Smarties. Still, it's always nice to do an interview where you actually get asked interesting questions ..

So, Get Over It is out on Monday. It would be funny if it got to number one. Okay. .. it's unlikely, but it would be funny. And singles don't sell half as much these days so it's easier innit. So just, like, get everyone you know to buy Get Over It and let's see what happens. I mean, it's the 21st century so they can just pay 79p and listen to the goddam thing within a minute and stay in bed the whole time and they've helped our cause for the cost of a small flapjack in Costcutters.

If you need more of a Get Over It fix, you can hear a pretty cool version of it that we recorded for Zane Lowe, in the disguise of Annie Mac, the other day - there's an interview with Arista and I and we also do a version of Big Dog, another song from the album, and play a couple of very good songs by other people. Hello all, hello.

THIS IS THE NEWS: i'll try to write in a brief, informative style. As you can see our new website is up. It's early days yet, so there's not loads of details up etc, but we'll be continuing to add to it over the next few weeks. Still, something to be getting on with.

Tickets are now on sale for our NEW UK TOUR in May/June - just go to the shop on our website and you can get tickets there ahead of them going on general sale on Wednesday. . . . . There'll be some seperate Irish / Northern Irish dates to be announced soon too.

On our podcast, we're "going audio" this week, as me and Greig waffle our way through some nuggets of information about each song on "Red" - possibly demonstrating why we're not public speakers but you might as well have a listen anyway. So subscribe to the podcast here . . . if you haven't already. You can do that through itunes.

We are on a TV programme called "Sound" on BBC 2, this Saturday 15th March. Playing a song or something. Probably our new single "Get Over It", that would be logical. Said song has also given us our first A-list at Radio One, which is quite exciting. Greig and I did a couple of days of regional radio the other day that involved a lot of driving around in a cab and heard it come on Radio One a few times. One time, we were at some traffic light and we both, very sadly, started looking round to see if we could see anyone in any other cars singing along to it. There were quite a few cars. But, um, no-one was singing along. Everyone looked very bored.

We're also going to be playing Lily Allen's TV programme the week that the single comes out, that's the week of March 17th on BBC 3, shows a few times over the week

We're also going to be on Zane Lowe's show on Radio 1, doing a Maida Vale session on Wed 12th March, so listen in....

And Get Over It - THE VIDEO - is also Number 7 in the MTV2 Chart at the moment. So thanks to those who voted so far and vote for it more yeah, lets barnstrorm this joint and get it to ONE.

And to those of you coming to these 3 upcoming shows - thankyou! We've been rehearsing solid for the last two weeks, figuring out how to play some of the new songs and re-arranging a few of the old ones. We're nervous but excited about playing live again... so see you in a few days if you're there.

And we have found our replacement for Mr Alex J Ward - a wonderful sax player and singer called Ruth Phoenix, who's a friend of Jonas, our keyboard tech man and co-producer of our new B-sides, more of which in the next mailout. So yeah, if you're at the shows, give her a big cheer. And thanks to everyone else who's emailed us about that, we heard some really great singers that we never knew about.

We Are Rocky And We Are Ross

Hello all, this is a quick note, a quick note. We're on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross tonight, tonight, tonight. We're playing 'Get Over It', which is all well and good, but this pales into mundane insignificance when I tell you that the principal guest on the show is Sylvester Stallone. Who, incidentally, now has a promo copy of our new album.

There will be a Guillemots / Rocky film. There WILL. He was a very nice man too, just so you know.

Hello world of electricity, this this is Fyfe. We've been having a lot of fun recording B-sides for 'Get Over It' over the last week or two; we've done an Ep's worth of stuff, and none of it really sounds like anything we've done before.

Anyway, someone is playing bad boogie-woogie piano next door, which is somehow reminding me to get onto the point of this email. We're going to be having a few podcast things coming up online over the next few weeks, and here's the first. It's on iTunes, but for some reason there's quite a complex, scurrying-around sort of method to getting hold of it at the moment... so, scurry on...

- Open iTunes
- Select "Advanced" from the top menu
- Select "Subscribe to podcast" from the drop-down list

And all shall be well... actually, while you're on iTunes, you should all do this aswell:

It's an album by Jonas, our keyboard tech, and my body double, and his friend Jeron, and it's really brilliant. Amazing to fall asleep to, listen to in a slightly fuzzy state, or, strangely, listen to in the bath, if anyone actually still has a bath these days. I mean, most people are too impatient to wait for the taps to run in this technological age of instant gratification. Still, they'll probably design an iBath soon.
